About Shared Pools and Safety

Compliant pool barriers help save lives by preventing young children from accessing swimming pools.

The Queensland Government has introduced new pool safety laws and regulations aimed at further reducing the incidences of drowning and serious immersion injuries of young children in swimming pools.
This will include hotels, motels, resorts and caravan parks, you will not be able to book in an overnight guest after 1 June 2011 without a Pool Safety Certificate. Note: There may be a grace period initially that will give them a certificate which will be valid for two years otherwise certificates will only be valid for one year.
